~Travel Friends Israel & Jordan 38~

The ancient city of Gerasa, now called Jerash. These Roman ruins are over 2,000 years old. Well preserved are the Hadrian's Arch, the Hippodrome, Oval Plaza, theater baths and main road. The Bedouins which have lived on the site have been relocated to houses nearby. The site currently had an archeological dig in place. Many of the water pipes and manholes are similar to the ones we still use today.
