Auschwitz is the site of the notorious German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp. Between June 1941 and January 1945 about 1 million men, women and children perished. At its peak Auschwitz death camp was a deadly prison to some 150,00 inmates that were either murdered, starved or worked to death. Many medical experiments were also performed on them.
